REQUIREMENTS
- You will need an onboard air supply.
Any air supply capable of delivering 90
psi of clean, dry air can be used.
- For more air compressor information,
see: ARB
Compressor Info
Guidelines for installation:
- The installation process is very similar
to changing the gears in the differential
and requires special tools and know-how.
It is important for the installation to
be completed by someone with the proper
training.
- The condition of the gears, bearings
and other axle components should be thoroughly
inspected and replaced as necessary. The
installation of an air locker in an assembly
with worn gears or bearings can lead to
premature failure and may impact the unit's
warranty.
- If the gears are reused, extreme care
should be used to replicate the original
gear mesh, ensuring that the original wear
pattern is continued. Failure to do so
could result in operational noise.
- The original bearings are difficult to
remove from the carrier. powerwagonlocker.com
recommends the replacement of these bearings
during the installation of the air locker.
The approximate cost of these bearings
is $80.
